I created MyUserJourney with a clear conviction: that businesses should not have to choose between understanding their users and respecting their privacy. The dominant analytics platforms – Google Analytics 4, Amplitude, Mixpanel – were designed in an era when user data was treated as a commodity. Privacy regulations have since transformed the landscape, yet these platforms have retrofitted compliance rather than embedding it at the architectural level.
My vision was to build a platform where privacy is not a constraint but a design principle – where cookieless tracking, IP anonymisation, and granular consent management coexist with AI-powered predictive analytics, automated UX auditing, and natural language data querying. This is not a marginal improvement; it is a fundamentally different approach to digital analytics.
I am the sole architect, developer, and designer of MyUserJourney. Every aspect of the platform – from the database schema to the user interface, from the AI integration layer to the privacy compliance framework – reflects decisions I have made and implemented independently. This encompasses:
System Architecture: A full-stack TypeScript application comprising 27 PostgreSQL tables managed through Drizzle ORM, a React 18 frontend with Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI, and an Express.js backend with RESTful API design. The single-port architecture (frontend and backend served from one deployment) was a deliberate design choice to simplify self-hosted deployments and reduce infrastructure complexity.
Privacy-by-Design Framework: I designed and implemented a comprehensive privacy compliance layer supporting UK GDPR, UK PECR, EU GDPR, and the EU ePrivacy Directive. This includes a six-category consent management system with three layout options and five positioning configurations, cookieless tracking mode, automatic IP anonymisation, one-click right-to-erasure execution, and machine-readable data portability exports.
AI Integration Architecture: I designed a modular AI service layer that abstracts the LLM provider, enabling users to bring their own API key and switch between OpenAI, Anthropic, or self-hosted models. Upon this abstraction, I built four distinct AI capabilities: predictive analytics (churn, revenue, conversion), an automated UX auditor, a marketing copilot, and natural language analytics querying.
No-Code Tools: I designed and built a drag-and-drop funnel builder with AI-assisted generation, a custom event definition system with AI templates, and a flexible report builder with AI-powered generation – all aimed at reducing the technical barrier to advanced analytics.
